District of Columbia

Summary
Carrying of handguns in DC is strictly prohibited. Since 1977, handgun ownership has been prohibited. Rifles and shotguns must be registered and stored in the home disassembled. Open carry is a moot point when the citizens have all been completely disarmed and only the gangs, which roam DC seemingly at will, are armed.
